A couple months back, my spouse went to the bank to order checks. We didn’t think much about it after that, and her order just rested in the back of our minds. Ordering checks for your deposit account isnot the most difficult thing to do but somehow, we managed to find ourselves in a huge mess very quickly. We simply didnot chase up on our order and we didnot have our lines of communication with the bank open.

The quandary started when I opened the chequebook to pay for tires we acquired thru our local engineer. There were no checks. I informed the mechanic, who gets a lot of business though our poor automobiles, that I might be directlyback to pay him. I got home and discovered that there were no new check books to be found. I literally tore the house apart trying to find the checks ordered a few months gone.

The very first thing I did was call my other half at her job. I infrequently ever call her there and its usually something vital when I do. She guaranteed me that she went to the local branch of our bank to order checks two months back. When I asked her if we had ever gotten them in the post I was struck by silence at the other end of the telephone. No, I was under the impression that you got them, she ultimately said after thinking about it for a little while. So I answered : Well I didnt order checks, so I wasnt trying to find checks in the mail. You can imagine how embarrasing this was.

I recalled once going browsing to order checks, but we had just moved and I wasnt in a position to make the necessary changes to our account details whilst I was trying to order order new checks. Instead I had to go to the bank to modify the address, so I believed it easier if we ordered the checks there. That made complete sense to me and on one level i was glad that our bank was so diligent about our security. That’s when I sent my spouse to the bank to place the order fro more checks. I was now starting to remember everything about the order, I just couldnt understand why the heck I didnt think to go looking for them. Time just passed by so swiftly. Thenext thing I know Im facing my mechanic with an empty chequebook.

I called the bank the day after and our usual teller said that she remembered that my better half had come in to order checks a very long time back and we definitely should have got them by now, and advised that maybe somebody had stolen them from our mailbox. Again, my imagination went wild and I began to get a little angry. Who on earth would take checks from a floundering, new blue collar family? We have got a baby and we’ve got a mortgage. We actually do not have enough funds to make purloining from us worthwhile. Then I heard the tellers sweet voice, Im so sorry, she claimed. I inverted one of the numbers in the account and your check order was defied. I didnt know.

I wasn’t so relieved to learn about a mistake in my life. We will now not order checks thru our bank. Instead I had found a superb site that enable syou to order checks online in a selection of designs. Rather than standing in queues to order new checks, I now simply go to my favorite site and order checks online .
